Here to Stay: a new novella

Of course, having recently written of a possible slow-down in the publication schedule, I promptly went ahead and published a new story. Click STAY for a Books2Read link; click the image below for AMZ link.

Three key things about HERE TO STAY:

  1. This novella is set - as one might surmise from the cover photo - in Las Vegas. Why wander out to the desert? Well, because that is where these protagonists live and work.

  2. Both protagonists are “silver foxes:” Gino is 47 and Sergei is 53 when the story begins.

  3. They find each other via some friendly nudges from my characters Andy and Victor. Andy worked on a tour with Sergei back in the day; Victor once went on a date with Gino.

Gino Corsetti has just landed a Sinatra tribute show on the Strip after twenty-five years as an itinerant performer. He’s ready to stop chasing the next gig and settle down. Sergei Kotov is a trainer for a showgirl spectacular, also on the Strip. Sergei’s lived in Las Vegas for ten years; he used to be a professional dancer, but left the stage after a back injury.

Gino has a cameo role in EXPOSURE and Sergei turns up in LIFT.

HERE TO STAY is not a high-conflict story. Gino and Sergei have some negotiations to do and some challenges to face, but I didn’t do anything horrible to them. This story was a lot of fun to write, after putting in some time with much more stressful subject matter. This one has also generated (as often happens) new characters who will be getting their own stories later on. Or not so later. You’ll be the first to know.
